What I really enjoy is being out there, working my veggie patch. Some days the weather makes things just too wet and soggy, so why not use some of those forced indoor moments to share my experiences of organic vegetable growing?

Early July Harvest
I probed about amongst the roots of a few potato plants about three weeks ago and thought they weren't doing too well (we've had a long dry spell here). Today I took the plunge - or rather the garden fork - and unearthed the first plant of the first row. A variety called Premier - not a bad lot of potatoes from one plant. The other pictures are the rest of tonight's dinner (except for the scarecrow almost lost in the raspberries he's meant to be watching over).

Beautiful potatoes! Mine are showing a bit of scab this year, but still very tasty.
Glad to hear from you again Mr Soggy. Not having my own veggie patch I have nevertheless enjoyed a few of my own strawberries, grown in a pot on my decking. Unfortunately no potatoes so I have had to make do with delicious Jersey royals from Tesco!
My honeysuckle was looking good and was obviously enjoying all the unusual sunny weather here in Northern Ireland. However, now that the rain has arrived again the powdery mildew has reared its ugly head again.
Beautiful harvest, sometimes unexpected turns into expected. Well done. It is so hard recently to find nice potatoes in our supermarkets, I should place an order with you, lol. Enjoy your summer, and most of all gardening. Anna :)
Our garden in Victoria seems to be in line with yours! Potatoes, peas, and raspberries - YUM
Hilary
Quite a thought isn't it - right around the world and we are all enjoying the same fresh veggies!
